Malrotation of the intestine is an unusual congenital anomaly and is one of the causes of intestinal obstruction. From December 1977 to December 1993, we experienced 8 cases of malrotation of intestine. Newborn and infant(0~1 year), 1 case,
child(1~14
years), 3 cases, and adult(above 14 years), 4 ases.
The common clinical findings were bilous vomiting, abdominal distension, abdominal painand vomiting. The Upper G-I series was the most reliable diagnostic method. The operative findings showed intestinal malrotation alone(4 cases), combined with
other
abnomalities(4 cases). The Ladd's procedure were done in 4 cases. Ladd's procedure with other were performed in 4 cases.
